It’s simple to put together and you can control the heat, by adding more or less spice. So let’s have a winning super bowl party by serving this amazing Kanpachi Bowl.
Forever Oceans Kanpachi Spicy Thai Bowl
1 ½ lb Forever Oceans Kanpachi fillet or your favorite fish, cut into bite size cubes
2 cups shiitake mushrooms, thinly sliced
½ cup low in sodium soy sauce
⅓ cup local honey
4 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
1 teaspoon Gochugaru chili flakes or ½ teaspoon red chili flakes
3 tablespoons sesame oil
For the salad:
2 cups cooked rice
1 avocado, skin and stone removed, flesh cut into slices
½ English cucumber, cut into slices
2 green onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons pickled ginger
2 tablespoon chili crisp
2 tablespoons of spicy sauce
How to make:
Place the Kanpachi into a large bowl then add the shiitake mushrooms, along with the soy, honey, garlic and gochugaru flakes, lightly combine all the ingredients together so that the fish and mushrooms are evenly coated.
Place a wok or large frying pan over a medium to high heat on the stove, add the sesame oil, when hot carefully add the fish and mushrooms. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes then stir with a large spoon, continue to cook for a further 3 to 4 minutes or until everything is cooked through.
Take four bowls, add equal qualities of rice, spoon equal amounts of fish and mushrooms over the rice, then add the even amounts of cucumber, green onions, ginger and chili crisp, drizzle over the spicy sauce. Serve and enjoy.
